Westcontrol Robertson
Westcontrol Robertson, based in Egersund, specializes in development, electronic manufacturing, machining, and assembly. The company boasts a rich and proud history, beginning in 1946 when Thorleif Robertson produced radio communication equipment for the Norwegian fishing fleet. Just two years later, the groundwork was laid for a significant export item: autonomous facilities for both small and large vessels, primarily fishing boats. The commitment to developing high-quality products established Robertson as a strong market player in Norway and later expanded its reach to Europe and the USA.
In 1971, Thorleif Robertson sold all his shares to A/S Kongsberg Våpenfabrikk. By 1972, the company ceased production of ship radio equipment. Over the following years, the company underwent various ownership changes and name revisions. In 2011, Westcontrol AS became the owner, and the company was renamed Westcontrol Robertson AS.
